Chen Xing
Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Texas Institute for Geophysics, Austin, TX.
I’m Chen Xing (邢辰), a postdoctoral fellow at Univeristy of Texas Institute for Geophysics, working with Yuko Okumura and Danielle Touma. I earned my B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology and my Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Management from the University of California, Santa Barbara, advised by Samantha Stevenson.
My research focuses on climate variability and mean-state change, with an emphasis on how the climate system responds to external forcings, including anthropogenic aerosols, greenhouse gases, volcanic eruptions, and solar radiation management. I use climate model experiments and large ensembles to understand the mechanisms that shape regional climate impacts and modes of variability such as ENSO and Pacific decadal variability.
